Elevators in Hawaiian, (now available for your easy listening, Disney pleasure)

Last year on of the most amazing things I experienced at Aulani, Disney’s Resort & Spa in Hawaii, were the elevators.

Don’t get me wrong, the resort in total is amazing with the private beach, water park-like rides and multiple swimming pools; not to mention the world class dining, and, well, it’s in Hawaii!!! But in the elevators, there was one particularly special surprise…the elevator music.

It wasn’t’ just any elevator music. Along with classic Disney resort theming and hidden Menehune, are the Disney classic songs sung in Hawaiian. Nothing gets you ready for a day at a Aulani, like hearing “When you Wish upon a Star”, e.g. “Ke Noi Aku I Kahi Hōkū” in Hawaiian.

It is now available on CD and iTunes, released as a collection of 13 songs in “Mele from Aunty’s Beach House, Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa”. So excuse me while I close my eyes, and listen to the music and pretend I’m back at Aulani...in the elevator headed down to the beach.
