3 things to do at Magic Kingdom in the Heat of the Day

It is hot in Florida. Typically, by Mid-Day it is easily 90+ degrees, even on a cloudy day. And, it is also humid. And, at Magic Kingdom, it is crowded. If I don't want to go back to my resort for a break, here are some things I do to help beat the heat....

  1. See the Shows - By mid-day, the Magic Kingdom is often at peak attendance. Most guests have arrived and are looking to get ready for the Parade. This also means that the attractions will have their longest wait times. So seek out the shows – the Tiki Room, StoryTime with Belle, Mickey’s Philharmonic, etc. You will spend less time standing in line and free up your time sitting down.

  2. Meet the Characters – The MyDisneyExperience app can give you times. The least crowded are going to be at the entrance to Magic Kingdom. The Princesses and Micky’s ToonTown Fair are also great places to meet the characters and be in A/C while you wait.

  3. Ride the Monorail around the resorts. Just keep in mind, with the new security checks, if you get off to take a tour around the resorts, you will have to go thru bag check again and again. Still it’s a nice change of pace. I like to tour the resorts and look and appreciate all the detailed themeing that has gone into each one.

Bonus TIP....get a Dole Whip or other cool treat. You can get one at AdventureLand or at the Polynesian resort.
