Disney's Line "Red Cards" Going Away

If you are a true Disney-geek, you know what this means.

It was an honor for true Disney-geeks like me to get in line and have a Cast Member hand you the “red card”. These are the FLIK cards that Cast Members use to get an idea of how long the standby line wait time is at various Disney attractions. Why Disney-geeks like them is because it is so random. You don’t get to keep it as you must surrender it to the cast member once you board your ride vehicle. The system scans the card and calculates the current wait time for that attraction. Still it was a Disney-geek honor to be selected as the "chosen one".

Now, sadly, the cards are now being phased out. Guests’ MagicBands will be used to measure the wait time from the start of a line to the end of it. I guess that’s progress.

Luckily, I've had my moment.
