The Magic in High Tea
If having high tea during your Walt Disney World vacation is on your wish list, then I have some important information to share with you. It is worth doing! (even if you're a guy). This isn't only a Princess-only experience.
The Garden View Tea Room located off the lobby at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, serves up high tea select afternoon with items such as tea sandwiches, cheeses, and freshly-baked pastries. This experience is now available only between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. (It used to be offered every day.)
I highly recommend doing this and that you go hungry. While it is an elegant experience, it is not pretentious. Do get a little dressed up or a lot, but you don't have to. (If you have the tiara, then it's okay to wear it). What amazed me when I went was the amount of food - 5 tea sandwiches (they are different kinds but you can substitute on for another if say goat cheese isn't your thing); a whole pot of tea - from a selection that rivals all the tea in China; and a wonderful dessert selection. There are add-on's to the basic tea service of $35 pp such as fruit/cheese, champagne, even caviar. Plan to spend a relaxing hour at least. I recommend going around 3pm when the piano starts playing in the nearby lobby. It makes for a wonderful afternoon and a memory you can only get while at Disney.
Reservations for this lovely experience can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.
