Halloween Magic at Disney Parks
Happy Halloween....Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, (MNSSHP), is a ticketed event that occurs during the end of August, and on selected nights in September and October! There is separate admission for the event, so you will want to make sure you have your tickets purchased for the night that you are interested in. (I recommend you purchase them in advance). The party isn't aren’t scary, but more focused on fun, candy and villains (plus all your other favorites) at this fun Halloween bash!
Here are 5 things to know:
1. You get to wear a costume and kids get to go trick or treating in the Magic Kingdom. (One family reported they got 23 pounds of free candy!)
2. There are tons of different pumpkins. There are 176 pumpkins to be exact, and each one is unique and independently themed to add to the festive theming of the party!
3. Special Character Appearances and more: The beloved Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus have a live action stage show. Other characters and villians come out to haunt the park at night, along with some of your Disney favorites too. This year Moana was out and about in Adventureland making a truly rare appearance and only during the MNSSP nights. Mickey and Minnie (and their friends) are all dressed up in costume too for some one of a kind photo ops with you.
4. You truly get to experience the park in a way in which you can only experience it by attending one of the parties. The park completely transforms. There are fog effects, tons of extra lighting and lighting effects, villainous music playing all over the park, not to mention a uniquely themed Halloween parade with characters you will only get to see at Halloween.
5. While the MNSSHP party is technically from 7PM to 12AM each night, and you don’t need to have theme park admission outside of your party ticket to get in, you can actually get in before 7PM! You can start entering the park at 4PM, which gets you a full 8 hours for your cost of party admission. That ends up being a pretty good deal since the party tickets are much cheaper than the cost for one-day admission into the Magic Kingdom. This allows you to experience more of the park and even have dinner if you want to so that once the party starts you are ready to focus on the party!
TIP: If you are interested in attending for 2018, you can book your vacation reservation now. October 31st is the date that always sells out first, so do plan ahead.
